A sterile, absorbent calcium alginate dressing for moderately to heavily draining wounds. It may be appropriately used for partial to full-thickness wound (Stages II-IV), including pressure ulcers , arterial and diabetic ulcers, donor sites, superficial burn wounds, surgical incisions, abrasions, lacerations and traumatic wounds. This dressing will absorb up to 20 times its own weight in wound exudates. When the dressing comes in contact with wound fluid, it forms, a soft absorbent gel-fiber matrix which insulates the wound and creates an ideal moist healing environment. Because of the gel-fiber matrix that is formed, dressing removal is painless and easy. Available in flat dressings or wound packing rope.
